A Bastard Resistance

Most people know of the Douglas MacArthur legend, "I shall return" when he withdrew from the Philippines. And many know about "The Battling Bastards of Bataan," the Death March, and the brutality of the Japanese invaders. Far fewer know of the heroic Cebu resistance fighters led by mining engineer Lt. Col. James Cushing. A Bastard Resistance draws on historical events as seen through the eyes of Patrick Morkan, a NYC lawyer and fighter pilot, as he tells the story of Cushing and the men and women, especially G-2 Lt. Carmen Duran, inside a guerrilla network on the Japanese-held island of Cebu, where courage, love, faith, and betrayal collide with wartime ferocity. Amidst this struggle, Morkan finds a secret Order on a dead officer that reveals corruption at the highest echelons of command. He could use it as leverage to get supplies from MacArthur's HQ...but not without risking his life.
