Not bad
I was hoping for more connections to the first book, the prox transmissions, but I think overall it was a better than the first one. It doesn’t feel like at all like a sequel, more like a spin-off.
If you like hard sci-fi action than it’s worth a read. The themes and ideas in the book have been done before but I liked how the author did them here.

I have a physical copy of this book signed by Dustin Bates. If you get this book and you’ve never heard of the band starset or have read Prox Transmissons, go listen to the band, read the first book and come back. You will thank me later. As for this 2nd iteration from the Starset Society. In my opinion it is a must read. Dustin really paints a dystopian picture with every single word. The descriptiveness makes you feel like you’re in Tom’s shoes. On top of this, sit tight. There will be more.
