Great Book
This book is well written. I really enjoyed reading it an highly recommend it. AJ Harmon is a very talented writer. Just remember we all have choices!
Heavy topics but a great read!
After reading the warning in the beginning of the book I was a little scared about where this story would take me. Let me just say that this is a well thought out book, with heavy topics that are handled really well. Domestic abuse, rape, stalking. It's not your light and fluffy romance, that is for sure.
Claire is a beautiful woman who grew up poor. She met Brent and he swept her off her feet and before she knew it she relied exclusively on him for her home, money, car, friends. When Claire meets Rebekah, she starts stepping out a bit. Going to lunch and book club. And Brent doesn't like it one bit. It starts off slowly...verbal abuse. But picks up drastically as most domestic situations do.
Soon, Claire has had enough and she is on the run. Rebekah helps her out with a place to live and she slowly starts getting back on her feet. Zeke is Rebekah's brother and he finds himself helping Claire. Before he knows it, he's falling for her. But how do you approach someone who has been so hurt and so skittish?
Can Claire ever really be free from Brent? He's found her and is stalking her now. Can she ever find love again?
This story will grab you from the first and hold your heart until the very end. Well done!
