Why the 1938 version of A Christmas Carol is the best one.
I am a big fan of the Charles Dickens story A Christmas Carol. I have seen every movie made multiple time over the last 60 years, but never had I read the book until today. What I found was the 1938 British film was very true to the original story from Dickens. Almost word for word. I think there was one small part of the book, the movie does not have. I wish I knew if the scene was cut due to time limitations. The other version have many scenes which they wrote for what ever reason, for example, one movie has Scrooge hearing the dying words of his sister asking him to take care of her son, after the younger Scrooge had left her bed side before she passed. This was the 1952 version over a hundred years after the book was published.

A classic story with a great ending!
Scrooge Repents
You know the story. Miser is visited by three sprits and repents his ways. But the original text has some beautiful details and language that modern adaptations miss. The stave containing the future drags a little. Otherwise, a classic story everyone should read.
