A Committee-Man of 'The Terror‪'‬

Thomas Hardy (1840 – 1928) was an English novelist and poet. A Victorian realist in the tradition of George Eliot, he was influenced both in his novels and in his poetry by Romanticism, especially William Wordsworth.

A Committee-Man of 'The Terror' is a story by British author Thomas Hardy as a usual happens in the fictional County in Wessex in the modern resort Budmouth where king George III and his suite have a summer holidays. Events of the story take place in 1802 – 1803 when in the result of Amien peace between England and France two opposite sides again increase its army forces and almost ready to unleash war.
