useful idea for a book
It is very important to educate people on the benefits of going green with efficiency upgrades and the installation of solar; however a few points made in this book were perhaps a bit uneducated. For example, a battery backup system is useful for far more than a small critical load panel for power outages. In the City I live in, the power company is less than fair on the sale of excess energy which makes it feasible to have a battery backup system in place to get the full potential of energy from my solar system. instead of selling my produced power to the utility company on a good production month for less than half the price the utility sells their energy for, and then buying it back full price on a poor production month, I just charge a backup system that is my own mini-grid. There are various reasons why many products are worth the investment, and when working with different situations sometimes adaptations have to be made to many products' use to achieve the full efficiency of a renewable energy system.
