This iBook takes a critical examination of the importance of parental engagement, the advantages and disadvantages of social media and the current practice of parents when mediating their children’s social media usage. It reflect specifically upon the authors school context and follows the action research cycle to critically examine current practice.
This study considers the meaning of data from both a questionnaire and focus group interview and checks for consistency of information via triangulation. Finally, this study considers revisions and actions for a second inquiry cycle. Throughout, relevant literature is referred to in accordance with my experiences.
