A DESCENDENT, ASCENDS..‪.‬

A Descendant Ascends” is anything but an elegiac poem. It focuses on the themes of death, remembrance, ratification, and gladness. The poem makes reference to Christian teachings. It is inspired by a special lady who was a Christian leader. The speaker, Tsireledzo Thikhathali, uses the poem to pay tribute to her. He emphasizes on how her death has brought happiness instead of sadness and how all who knew her should not be sad, however, glad. He speaks on how her death has mended scars and that all her works will forever be enshrined.
