Two New York Times and USA Today bestselling novels together at last, W. Bruce Cameron's A Dog's Purpose and A Dog's Journey--a perfect gift for everyone who's ever loved a dog.
This is the remarkable story of one endearing dog's search for his purpose over the course of several lives. More than just another charming dog story, W. Bruce Cameron's A Dog's Purpose touches on the universal quest for an answer to life's most basic question: Why are we here?
A Dog's Purpose
Heartwarming, insightful, and often laugh-out-loud funny, A Dog's Purpose is not only the emotional and hilarious story of a dog's many lives, but also a dog's-eye commentary on human relationships and the unbreakable bonds between man and man's best friend. This moving and beautifully crafted story teaches us that love never dies, that our true friends are always with us, and that every creature on earth is born with a purpose.
A Dog's Journey
When Buddy is reborn in A Dog's Journey, he realizes that he has a new destiny. He's overjoyed when he is adopted by a vibrant but troubled teenager. When they are suddenly separated, Buddy despairs—who will take care of his girl? A charming and heartwarming story of hope, love, and unending devotion, A Dog's Journey asks the question: Do we really take care of our pets, or do they take care of us?

A tail-wagging three hanky boo-hooer, this delightful fiction debut by newspaper columnist Cameron (8 Simple Rules for Marrying My Daughter) proposes that a dog's purpose might entail being reborn several times. Told in a touching, doggy first-person, this unabashedly sentimental tale introduces Toby, who's rescued by a woman without a license for her rescue operation, so, sadly, Toby ends up euthanized. He's reborn in a puppy mill and after almost dying while left in a hot car, he's saved again by a woman, and he becomes Bailey, a beloved golden retriever, who finds happiness and many adventures. His next intense incarnation is as Ellie, a female German shepherd, a heroic search and rescue dog. But the true purpose of this dog's life doesn't become totally clear until his reincarnation as Buddy, a black Lab. A book for all age groups who admire canine courage, Cameron also successfully captures the essence of a dog's amazing capacity to love and protect. And happily, unlike Marley, this dog stays around for the long haul. \n
Boxed set A Dog's Purpose. And A Dog's Journey
I absolutely loved both of these books.
The movie came out but I really wanted to read these first. I loved all the different characters and their pets. Each dog and family came from different walks of life.
It was funny, sad and adventurous.
It was hard to put down . It made me look at my dog questioning if she had been in my life before.
I'm a grown 50 something adult and my friend has a daughter that is 10 and is reading the same book.
She will be able to read these books and each time take something away from them if she didn't quite understand the 1st go around.
A Dog's Purpose/Journey
Both of these books are the best! The author can reach out and touch my heart with these dog tales. I am a true dog lover, and these books made me cry and laugh. Broke my heart each time the dog died 💔, but the beginnings seal it back up again ❤️. Even the end is a beginning. I've read a Dog's Purpose twice, and I'm sure I'll read it many times again! It's such a great book that now they're making a movie! Can't wait! (Read the books if you haven't yet!)
A Dog's Purpose
Read this a few years ago and loved it. I decided to read it again and loved it even more.. It just grabs your heart and never to see lets go. It just so beautifully describes the connection of love between dogs and their people. Can't wait to see the movie...
