The most common advice given for a first date is to "just be yourself." But when are you not yourself? You can't just be yourself, you have to be your *best* self.
That's what A GREAT FIRST DATE is about - how to present the best and truest version of yourself, right off the bat. And the dating advice given isn't from movies, television, or imagined scenarios of what a first date should be like, instead, it's from recent, field-tested, real world experience.
Because, while it's easier than ever to meet people, it's just as hard as ever - if not harder - to connect with them. And that first date is the first opportunity to make that connection. Most times it's the last.
A Great First Date is about improving your odds, dramatically, in making that connection happen, starting with just that: A great first date.
Got his other book as a giveaway and liked it enough that I spent the $3 for this book. Worth the price of admission - it's pretty up to date and good if you live in a major city. Probably still works if you don't but it'll help. Very self-helpy.
If you're actively dating...
I came across Logan's blog searching for dating tips and bought AGFD on a whim - I was surprised by how well thought out everything was. In some ways, the core idea's pretty simple: plan stuff out. You'd be surprised how many guys don't. Great (pun intended) book if you're actively dating.
An overall great self improvement book.
I recommend this book not just for those who are looking to improve themselves for dating, but also to just be the best they can be as a person in general. The author does a great job on organizing the book for the reader to follow on step by step on how you want to approach dating and finding for what you are looking for. He does a great job of also teaching the reader on how to look at things and themselves with a different and better mindset which while I was reading, I could see how to apply his concepts to just living my life instead just being a better at dating. Also was a fun read, because the author presented very funny but smart ways on getting is point across. Highly recommend the book and for such a cheap price, you have nothing to lose with this great read.
