A Heart Stretched by Grief and Gratitude

The phrase “there is no formula for life” couldn’t be truer for Nomakhosazana Mbokotwana who, as she reaches 30, believes her life is only just beginning.
The preceding years had been nothing short of the deepest pain imaginable to the soul – from the loss of her entire family to the hardship of trying to survive that ordeal, she has been wracked from one battlefield to another. She has suffered suicidal thoughts and found faith in God’s Word. From living secretly in her mother’s employer’s house to growing up too quickly separated from her parents, death stole her light, purpose and opportunities to be a carefree child.
Love, in all forms, has been snatched away like the darkness overcomes the day and, no matter how much she tried chasing the sun, darkness always caught up.
A Heart Stretched by Grief and Gratitude reflects Nomakhosazana’s decision to rather snatch up the pen and write her story in the hope at least one person is inspired and sufficiently courageous to recognise their light through the darkness and pain through which they are struggling. She believes this book can be the tool to assist readers become challengers of the storm – the eagle that must endure the necessary pain before it can continue its life.
While she does not proclaim to have all the answers, she has been filled with a learning spirit and contentment as she now navigates life seeking the light, happiness, freedom and peace she deserves.
