Publisher Description
The timeless romance, soaring passion—and gorgeous men—of Scotland come to modern-day America. And the rules of love will never be the same…
Isabel Buchanan is fiery, funny, and never at a loss for words. But she is struck speechless when her mother returns from a trip to Scotland with a six-foot-tall, very handsome souvenir. Izzy’s mother is so infatuated by the fellow that Izzy has to plan their annual Highland Games all by herself. Well, not completely by herself. The Highlander’s strapping young nephew has come looking for his uncle…
Alasdair Blackmoor has never seen a place as friendly as this small Georgia town—or a girl as brilliant and beguiling as Izzy. Instead of saving his uncle, who seems to be having a lovely time, Alasdair decides he’d rather help Izzy with the Highland Games. Show her how to dance like a Highlander. Drink like a Highlander. And maybe, just maybe, fall in love with a Highlander. But when the games are over, where do they go from here?
“Laura Trentham creates a romance that is both extremely sensual and phenomenal.”

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Trentham's series launch is a witty twist on romantic clich s. When Isabel Buchanan picks up her mother, Rose, from the Atlanta airport, she's startled to learn that Rose has returned from Scotland with a man in tow. Rose met Gareth Connors in Edinburgh and has invited him to stay at their Stonehaven home in Highland, Georgia. Gareth's nephew, Alasdair Blackmoor, is also visiting the U.S., and he drives to Georgia with the intent of bringing Gareth back to the U.K. so that he can claim his title of Earl of Cairndow. Upon his arrival in Highland, Alasdair meets Izzy and claims to be a friend of Gareth's. He's baffled that Gareth is using the last name of Connors, which is the surname of the Cairndow groundskeeper. Once Izzy agrees to let Alasdair stay at Stonehaven, sparks ignite between Alasdair and Izzy as they try to untangle the mystery of Gareth's behavior. Lies, misunderstandings, sensual romance, humor, a fast-moving plot, and delightful characters: this novel has it all.

Deiightful Tale
This was my first time reading this author. I will be continuing this series and am happy to report I’ve found a new author I enjoy reading.
This book was fun to read. There is some angst but it didn’t weigh down the story. I enjoyed getting to know the quirky characters that make up Highland, GA. I wanted to keep turning the pages to found out how Isabel (Izzy) and Alasdair’s reached their HEA. .
A Highlander Walks into a Bar
I received a complimentary copy of this book from St. Martin's Press via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was a delightfully funny read. I so enjoyed my time in Highland, Georgia and look forward to more. This story was a laugh out loud joy. The tale of Gareth and Rose along with Alasdair and Isabel (Izzy). This was a two for one romance that kept me glued to my e-reader.
Izzy goes to the airport to pick her mother up after she vacationed in Scotland for a couple of weeks. Rose brought back a handsome highlander with her. Izzy is suspicious that Gareth is after Rose's money (she is land-rich with Stonehaven but money-tight). Unbeknownst to either Rose or Izzy, Gareth is the Ninth Earl of Cairndow. He wants to be known and wanted as a man not a title. His brother's widow sends her son, Alasdair, to bring Gareth home. Alasdair believes that Rose is after the title not the man.
I adored Izzy. She is not graceful like her former ballerina mother and makes no bones about it. I could totally relate to her. I felt like the author was writing about me at times as I wasn't the most graceful either. Izzy was a delightful character that I had to stop reading to control the laughter at times. She seemed so human at times. Alasdair was the handsome highlander that captures Izzy's fancy and was the perfect foil for her. He knew he made a mistake when he asked his company to investigate Stonehaven when his boss wants the property for a rich Saudi. Now he has to figure out a way out of the mess that he unfortunately caused.
The story is written in my favorite dual POV format. Getting to see the thoughts of the characters really was a joy and made reading fun with this story. The plot flowed and the dialogue was enchanting. I felt like I was watching a movie and not reading a book though. It was totally well done.
The supporting cast of characters were enchanting as well. I hope to revisit Highland, Georgia many times. I highly recommend this story especially if you love romantic comedy!
Great Read!
Great read! I loved the characters in this story. Izzy and Alasdair have so much chemistry even though they are suspicious of each other’s motives and can’t bring themselves to trust. I was very entertained watching how uncomfortable Izzy was with her Mom’s pda with Gareth . I am new to this author and enjoyed her writing very much. I hope there is a second book in this series!
I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.
