A Kidnapped Santa Claus
Publisher Description
This book describes the action of some uncommon events in the land of Santa. Not far from the Laughing Valley where Santa and all his magical helpers live, and beyond the Forest of Burzee, there stands a huge mountain that contains the Cave of Demons. Each demon has a specialty: Selfishness, Envy, Hatred, Malice, and Repentance. Because the promise of Santa puts all girls and boys on their best behavior, the demons have hardly any visitors to their caves. In order to remedy their dismal foot traffic, they conspire to kidnap Santa! But oh! even when it looks as if the demons might win, one can never underestimate the power of devoted (and magical!) friends.

Where’s the animated movie?
Although I read the Wizard of Oz book many years ago, I haven’t read any other Oz books, nor anything else by L. Frank Baum. I’m a Christmas junkie, so when I found this gem, I just had to read it straightaway. I’m so glad I did! It’s completely charming and whimsical. Even it’s brevity is a strength. It reads like a Christmas Eve story you could read to your children at bedtime, right up there with ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. Furthermore, I could totally see this as an animated movie, or special. I’m surprised there’s been nothing. Unless, of course, there has been something, and I’m just ignorant of its existence.
In short, I enthusiastically recommend this short story to anyone with children, in their family, or in their hearts. And there’s even a great spiritual message amidst the whimsy. Enjoy.
