When a city woman meets a country man…
Rorie Campbell has a pleasant, predictable life in San Francisco, where she’s seeing a pleasant, predictable man. Then, while she’s on vacation, her car breaks down on an Oregon country road, and horse rancher Clay Franklin comes to her rescue. Rorie soon discovers that a city girl can fall in love with a country man. And the other way around… But Clay has no right to return her feelings because he’s engaged to another woman! Loved the story
As usual, Debbie Macomber has written a book of memorable characters that with a few twists & turns finally make it to their happily ever after. She has a true gift of making her characters come alive from the pages. I took off 1 star because some of the dialogue was so corny that I found myself fighting an eye roll a few times. Not often, but just enough to make me wonder how & why she lost her sense of reality & slipped right over to the side of teen angst. Other than a few lapses though, the book was great.
