A long cool rain
Excellent story!!!!
A Long Cool Rain
Well, I don’t quite know what to say…. A LOT of the characters had issues (grief, depression, anger) that, for me, detracted from the story.
Yes, I liked that the hero wasn’t suffering from testosterone poisoning. He was the calm voice of reason. And I’m not sure what this says about me, but I wouldn’t have minded if he had been of a more take-charge guy sometimes.
The heroine was a bit whiney, and there wasn’t a moment when she did or said anything actually I would consider lovable. On the other hand, I laughed out loud at her conversation with her friend about building decks!!!! That was priceless. So I can’t dislike her.
The story was good, the writing was good, my problem was that so many of the characters had issues (and their ensuing depression/anger); it wasn’t just the lead characters, and it was too much for me in the end.
A Long Cool Rain
This one is the best of the series! I read them out of order but had to come back to this first one.
