A summer they'll never forget.
Each summer Joey and his sister, Mary Alice—two city slickers from Chicago—visit Grandma Dowdel's seemingly sleepy Illinois town. Soon enough, they find that it's far from sleepy...and Grandma is far from your typical grandmother. From seeing their first corpse (and he isn't resting easy) to helping Grandma trespass, catch the sheriff in his underwear, and feed the hungry—all in one day—Joey and Mary Alice have nine summers they'll never forget!

Incredible and lifelong!!!
When you get this book your childhood or late one has been made!!!! This book takes you through some of the most hilarious and meaningful (though mostly laugh out loud funny!) moments of growing up spending the summer with a trigger happy, no nonsense grandma! Though by the end of the book you'll wish you had her!check out the two other books that are sequels to this masterpiece: a year down yonder and A season of Giving, they get more and more funny as it goes on,!!!! Enjoy! :) ;)
P.s. This is basically the soundtrack to a persons childhood!
