Publisher Description

New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh welcomes you to a remote town on the edge of the world where even the blinding brightness of the sun can’t mask the darkness that lies deep within a killer.…

On the rugged West Coast of New Zealand, Golden Cove is more than just a town where people live. The adults are more than neighbors; the children, more than schoolmates.

That is until one fateful summer—and several vanished bodies—shatters the trust holding Golden Cove together. All that’s left are whispers behind closed doors, broken friendships, and a silent agreement to not look back. But they can’t run from the past forever.

Eight years later, a beautiful young woman disappears without a trace, and the residents of Golden Cove wonder if their home shelters something far more dangerous than an unforgiving landscape.

It’s not long before the dark past collides with the haunting present and deadly secrets come to light.

Loved it!

While I have loved everything Nalini writes, I was a little hesitant venturing in this due to her warnings to her readers but I feel the warning was unwarranted. I loved it and it reminded me of Nora Robert’s suspenses. I loved how her characters had so much depth and they had some dark aspects that kept me guessing. I also appreciated learning of a new culture. I agree with another reviewer that I liked the element of romance. If it wasn’t there, it might have left me a little unsatisfied.

Good story

At first I didn’t know if I liked this book. But as o keep reading I couldn’t put it down. The suspense was good. I really started to like the characters especially the two main characters. I hope she keeps writing these kind of books. I look forward to the next book.
