This was a delightful & thoroughly heartwarming story of Jasper & Evie, two troubled souls who meet again when Jasper returns to Patterson’s Bluff after a decade away‼️🤗.

The two were close in high school, but he left to make a life away from folks who knew his dad was a criminal & thought he was too! But he has returned to make a home in the town his Mum loved to renovate her house & run his successful photography business from there‼️

Evie is the town’s Mrs. Claus & it just so happens that Jasper has reluctantly agreed to take his injured friend’s place as the Santa!😀. Their attraction still sizzles, & the sharp-witted banter between the two is hilarious at times as they fight it!❣️🤣. Will fear keep them apart again or will love, loyalty & laughter inspire courage for a second chance?

Jasper left Patterson’s Bluff to escape demons he believed would continue to haunt him for the rest of his life. In doing so, he hurt the only person who truly “saw” him for whom he really was. After making something of his life, Jasper returns to right wrongs and fulfill his mom’s life long wish. Jasper wants to prove to everyone he’s not the angry teen he used to be and he’s also NOT his dad. But small-town life, gossip makes it almost impossible…Almost.

Evie has lived in Patterson’s Bluff her entire life and never plans to leave. She loves her small town, her family and her job. After having health issues, Evie locks away her heart and dreams. She decides she is tired of “taking”, so she volunteers for EVERYTHING. She also puts her dreams and relationships aside because she’s afraid of the “what ifs”. When Jasper returns to town, he makes it impossible for Evie to continue not feeling—especially when they’re thrown together as Mr & Mrs Claus.

This novel has ALL the feels! Big Ears stole the show with his floppy ears and reindeer headband. I could just imagine the sausage flopping around as he ran. Jasper’s patience and kindness stole my heart! His determination to honor his mom, make amends, and win over his girl…swoon. I also empathized with Evie, her scars, and fears. Very realistic and heartwarming. I highly recommend this novel. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

A delightful and heartfelt story filled with second chances at life and love.

We all make mistakes, but what matters is if we learn from them and do better going forward. Jasper is a man whose past haunts him. He wants a second chance but doesn't think the people of his hometown will give him one, especially Evie Dunn. I love that Jasper steps up and basically makes people see the real him, the adult him...not that crazy, mixed-up teen. And Evie is wonderful for him, but also has her own issues to deal with. Plus, there's a sweet, lovable, adorable dog...Big Ears! Mix in all the holiday fun, old friends we've seen in Patterson Bluff books and it's the perfect holiday treat!
