A Missing Future

In horse country, the most valuable bloodlines hide the deadliest secrets.

A champion stallion died beneath him. Years later, another disappears.

Cade Mercer has spent years running from the night Ghost collapsed beneath him at the Legacy Cup finals—and from the guilt that ended his career in the elite Texas cutting-horse world.

Then High-Dollar Remedy, a priceless grey stallion tied to the same powerful bloodline, vanishes from a trailer at a roadside travel center.

Deputy Lila Boone knows it was no ordinary theft: cameras disabled, routes manipulated, and signs that Remedy may have been drugged before he ever left the ranch.

When Lila asks Cade for help, he is pulled back into the world he swore off—and into the orbit of the powerful Rusk breeding dynasty.

But the search for Remedy uncovers something far more dangerous than horse theft: a secret hidden behind championship buckles, multimillion-dollar bloodlines, and years of carefully protected lies.

A secret connected to Remedy. A secret connected to Ghost. And a secret that may finally reveal what really happened to the horse beneath him.

Set against the rugged landscape of Texas horse country, A Missing Future is a Cade Mercer mystery of loyalty, greed, buried guilt, and the dangerous price of pursuing the perfect champion.
