A Northridge Natural History

Ecology and evolution are introduced during the course of a series of field trips upon which the common plants and animals of southern California are seen. The scientific method and other aspects of the philosophy of science as it relates to natural history, ecology, and evolution are introduced. The book was written for a general-education class at California State University, Northridge, but it is friendly to other budding naturalists in the region (7th grade and up). A paragraph treats each of a couple of hundred of our most obvious organisms.
