Publisher Description

The Temagami region of Northern Ontario covers about 12,000 square kilometers. The naturalist Grey Owl notes that the word Temagami, which has undergone numerous spelling changes, is derived from the Ojibway words meaning “deep-at-the-shore.” In addition to old-growth red and white pine, as well as myriad lakes and stream, this region is also rich in culture and history. And while I was not so privileged as to catch but a few fleeting glances of the areas abundant wildlife, the Temagami region supports moose, deer, black bear, snowshoe hare, lynx, and many species of bird. The images that follow represent a small fraction of the locations that constitute Temagami.
