A Potter's Sojourn

In a trade magazine Jason Mock, a professional potter, sees an ad that screams adventure: "Pottery shop manager wanted, Barbados, West Indies." He flies there with minimal possessions and maximum expectations to live five years in a new culture. At first it feels like the perfect job. But, he finds black Barbadian (Bajan) workers must endure torment, verbal abuse, and bigotry from the dictatorial mother and son bosses. The white owners try to seduce Jason into their larcenous scheme. Can he balance a job in paradise against his moral code?


 He strives to be an effective manager, but insurmountable clashes with the owners emerge. The workplace is an emotional Hiroshima. Jason's popularity with the workers grows as shocking details surface. He ignites a peaceful uprising by the workers, but it ends in a deadly climax.
