His Calling Is Righteous …. But getting there isn’t easy
“Well, if you’re still going to territories that are heavily demonized, you need unconventional weapons. Scriptures for warfare.” Rowen’s mentor and pastor not only gave him that advice but taught him how to fight.
One would think that Rowen, a former gang leader, already knew how to fight. But he was entering a different arena this time, an arena where he’d not be fighting flesh and blood. He would need a very different kind of weapon... scripture for warfare.
Rowen was getting ready to head into a den of lions….. unlike Daniel, he was a rather new believer and didn’t have the spiritual weapons needed for warfare. But he was a willing student. He learned that scripture says, the Word of God ‘is quick and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing through the division of the soul and spirit, discerning the intents of the heart.’
But it didn’t happen overnight. He had to learn to trust God with his future. He had to learn that ‘if God be for us, who can be against us’. He had to overcome feelings of inadequacy. As he said, “Who would want a pastor who was a former gangster?”
Well, Rowen was in for a big surprise…. God uses the foolish things in life to confound the wise. Enjoy seeing Rowen learn these lessons, and who knows, maybe some of those lessons will hit home with you too.
I was given an advance copy of this novella and am leaving my personal thoughts and opinions.
