Publisher Description

Lonesome Lily turned Scandalous Siren

Miss Lillian Hargrove has lived much of her life alone in a gilded cage, longing for love and companionship. When an artist offers her pretty promises and begs her to pose for a scandalous portrait, Lily doesn’t hesitate . . . until the lying libertine leaves her in disgrace. With the painting now public, Lily has no choice but to turn to the one man who might save her from ruin.

Highland Devil turned Halfhearted Duke

The Duke of Warnick loathes all things English, none more so than the aristocracy. It does not matter that the imposing Scotsman has inherited one of the most venerable dukedoms in Britain—he wants nothing to do with it, especially when he discovers that the unwanted title comes with a troublesome ward, one who is far too old and far too beautiful to be his problem.

Tartan Comes to Town

Warnick arrives in London with a single goal: get the chit married and see her become someone else’s problem, then return to a normal, quiet life in Scotland. It’s the perfect plan, until Lily declares she’ll only marry for love . . . and the Scot finds that there is one thing in England he likes far too much . . .

Yummy

This whole series is fun and a nice update on the genre — the women chose their destinies and have so much agency.

And we love a Scottish scoundrel!

A Scot in the Dark

I fell in love with the characters, loved the imagery of each scene and couldn't stop reading! Alec and Lily will have you turning pages until you reach a well deserved happy ending .

This book was difficult to read

The story moved at a snails pace. I kept thinking that finally we're getting more story only for it to become "I'm not worthy of you" AGAIN!
I have enjoyed many other books by this author, and loved them. I must admit that I don't remember as much internal dialogue in the others but if there is one thing I can't stand is what I call filler words and this book was 3/4 full of them. If you were to take those fillers and the repeated phrases such as; I'm not worthy of you, out I don't think the book could fill 70 pages. Tops!
Obviously I don't recommend this book except if you're looking for a lesson on how NOT to write a good romance book.
