In A Season of You by Emma Douglas, it’s Christmastime in the quaint island town of Cloud Bay, where love is always in season...
Will Fraser has believed in love at first sight since the day he first laid eyes on Mina Harper five years ago. There was only one problem: She was happily married. Then, when Mina’s husband was killed by a drunk driver, Will figured she’d want nothing to do with a guy who owns a whiskey distillery. So he’s kept his feelings locked away, knowing that not even a Christmas miracle would be enough to melt Mina’s heart. . .
Mina believes her days of true love are behind her. Since losing her husband she’s kept to herself, content to do her own painting and stay out of the limelight that comes with her famous family. But when, after a freak accident, Will comes to her rescue, Mina can’t quite get him out of her mind. As curiosity turns into a fling during Cloud Bay’s first Christmas Festival, she finds it harder to convince herself that her feelings for Will are just mistletoe-inspired. Could Mina be ready to lay the past to rest and finally admit that what she really wants for Christmas—and forever—is Will?
Douglas (Need You Now) sets this Christmas story on a small island off the coast of California. Although there is no snow, there's holiday spirit aplenty, as the town's mayor gets set to go overboard with that deck-the-halls thing. Strong-willed young widow Mina Harper prefers solitary anonymity. Holing up in her cottage studio makes her happy, and now she's up against a deadline for the first big exhibit of her paintings. On a cold, foggy night, she's changing a flat tire alongside a deserted road when she slips in the mud and cracks her head against her car. Luckily, distillery owner Will Fraser comes to her rescue, and from there on fate seems to throw them together at every turn. Douglas does a fine job of setting the scene, crafting characters readers will want to know, and setting the stage for at least a couple of sequels.

A Season of You is the second book in the Cloud Bay series and it's a great one. Mina's character peaked my interest in Need You Now and I was so excited to see that this was her story. I was not disappointed!! Will Fraser, local pub and distillery owner, has always had a thing for Mina. When he first met her she was married. Then her husband died but she needed time. Now five years after first seeing Mina is his chance and he'll do whatever it takes to win her heart!
I'm loving this series. No worries though if you haven't read book 1, this one can be read standalone. I highly recommend it.
