A Small, Dusty Planet in the Middle of Nowhere

A patched-up ship. A crew of misfits. A distress call from the middle of nowhere.

When Jules Marquez signs on as engineer to The Reverie, they aren't asking for much. The battered freighter offers everything they need: useful work, a captain who doesn't pry, and a quiet corner of the galaxy where a person can disappear.

The crew is a mismatched collection of misfits — a ship's computer that knows more than it should, an exiled alien philosopher with a bounty on their head, the kind of found family Jules hasn't dared to want.

Then a distress call drags them to a dying mining colony at the edge of nowhere, and what should have been a simple rescue turns into something far harder to walk away from.
