A Sociopath Beside Me

The real stories are interesting, but the author's writing style reads more like a diary account with emotional venting than an insightful analysis. The lack of specific details of the stories makes much of the book feel too ambiguous. The author's writing also came off too subjective and emotionally charged to provide any real practical and objective tactics in identifying and dealing with sociopaths. It was an interesting read, but not very useful for gleaming any substantive knowledge.

This book describes my business partner exactly. He is a sick and selfish ego maniac. The words of this book are right on. Thanks for sharing your story. It has helped me greatly. It all comes down to the heart of the person and their choice. And even when faced with the facts of their behavior, unless they know Jesus and that he loves them in their sin and that he wants them to change for the better they will continue to hide and live a lie until they die and in which they will fry.

Since the sociopath in my life moved on, I went through the normal pains of a break-up until I started writing down all the horror I lived through with my evil partner. The money he took leaving me with a court case against me yet to be settled, medical bills and all his toys he "needed" while not working due to depression, His lies, his inability to get a job, the screaming of verbal abuse, the stealing from all family members, sexual advances towards my sister, the pills, the alcohol and the evil mind games he played on me constantly.

This book helped me see that this type of person, the one in 25, are masters of disguise and are incapable of remorse and so very dangerous.

This book is for anyone who has been told by others to be careful the man/woman your with is a player, a con man, a pathological liar, or a manipulator. Or even more bluntly a sociopath!

This book is also for those who have tried to shake sense into a loved one's head with no luck. Don't give up on your loved one who's caught up with evil, be knowledgeable about the evil they inflict and HOW they do it. If you read this book you can quit using the cliches and be able to talk intelligently to your loved one about things only a captured soul who's experiencing these things would recognize. Your loved one will listen and have to consider because you're bringing up stuff your loved one won't divulge because of embarrassment or shame.

For me, this book moved me through guilt and anger to a safer place being STAY AWAY....don't try to get even (unless like in this book you have just cause). I have written so many letters explaining to the evil one how he is not fixable and how evil he is....I never sent them and now, after finishing this book I never will because there is truly nothing we can do but what is best fir us- LET HIM GO AND STAY AWAY FOREVER. They cannot change and are a true menace to society!!

This book is also for the lucky ones who have never had a brush with a sociopath while you've been lucky thus far , it's best to know what's out there and Be prepared.
