I was enjoying the book very much until…
Until I came to Part 2. I was very much surprised at the ignorance and falsehoods Doyle used to portray Mormonism. While Holmes and Watson are very much fictional characters, Brigham Young and the settlement of Utah are very much real and historical. Doyle's portrayal of Mormonism is inaccurate and offensive. While he might have been influenced by the prejudices of his time, there is no reason to continue to perpetrate those religiously bigoted and inaccurate prejudices. It would be good for Apple Books to present a different example of Doyle's works in their bookstore and drop this one.
