A Teacher Named Experience

This book, a nonfiction narrative, tells the stories of people who walked the halls of three dynamic secondary schools, a junior high and two middle schools. Valued inhabitants were teachers, administrators, custodians and cooks. They were bus drivers, office assistants, parents and kids. Their lives intertwined in dramas both comic and tragic. Events that brought them together created stories that filled their lives with joy and love, anger and despair, success and failure. Journals, logs, notes and discipline files tell their stories. For those who want to teach and lead, for those who already do that, it is from these stories power can be achieved. Sharing what experience has taught and deeply reflecting on those experiences helps us learn and gives us power.
