PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
A long-delayed romance blooms between two werejaguars trying to return a child home in time for Christmas in this sweet and breezy tale that's light on tension and suspense. Everett Anderson and Demetria MacFarlane are working on integrating the branches of the werejaguar defense agency in Dallas, Tex., when they get a call about an abandoned child. He turns out to be another kind of shifter, one that the werejaguars had no idea even existed. Everett and Demetria act on the strong feelings they've long had for each other as they search for the child's family. Their biggest obstacle is the child's kindred's matching skepticism about jaguar shifters, but even that is easily overcome as the various plot threads flow smoothly toward happy resolutions. The emphasis on superficial Christmas elements lights, trees, presents, visits to Santa make this a pleasant Yuletide read, but it lacks depth.

perfect book to get you into the holiday spirit
Terry Spear has created a perfectly heartwarming Christmas shifter story with A Very Jaguar Christmas.
Demetria and Everett have been interested in each other for a long while. When they are placed together to protect a shifter child, Corey, their worlds are thrown back together. First, they never knew there was other shifter animals out there. Then to be stuck together, caring for a child, and searching for a new breed of shifter made for fun and highly entertaining reading.
I love the idea that the wolf and jaguar world are starting to come together.
The stunning discoveries, the absolutely adorable Corey and the tender romance made A Very Jaguar Christmas the perfect book to get you into the holiday spirit.
I received this ARC copy of A Very Jaguar Christmas from SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca in exchange for a honest review.
Not my favorite
I really wanted to love this one. There were so many great elements, but they never really came together. Demetria and Everett have a shared grief that has kept them apart - it was quite a sad beginning, which you don't usually see in a Christmas novel, and that was good. It set it apart a little. But, things change very quickly when they find an abandoned cub. Now, this cub is quite a surprise - it's beyond a surprise, but I can't give it away. Let's just say the Jaguar world will never be the same.
It was cure and well done, this introduction to something new. But it sort of took over the story. Instead of watching Demetria and Everett bond over a little cub, it turned into more of a mystery with a dash of sex. I needed more romance and feelings and denied attraction.
It also sort of bounced around a bit. At times it was hard to follow the dialog and keep up with who was doing what.
