Publisher Description
”A Wave in the Ocean,” is about my pilgrimage to Tibet, "The Land of Snows" in 2004. Tibet is commonly referred to as the “Roof of the World” because of its high altitude and many snowcapped mountains. My teacher, Khenpo Sherab Ozer Rinpoche, suggested the title of this work be A Wave in the Ocean, indicating that it will be an integral and important contribution to the vastness of Buddhism.
The primary goal of our trip was to attend the Monkey Year teachings referred to as the Drikung Phowa Chenmo, or Great Transference of Consciousness given by H. H. Chungtsang Rinpoche at Drikung Thil located at an elevation of 8,500 feet outside of Lhasa. These teachings have not been taught at this location since the Chinese invasion of Tibet in 1959; they have been forbidden until recently by the Chinese government. Occurring only once every twelve years, Drikung Phowa Chenmo is one of the best-known practices of the Drikung Kagyu lineage.
A portion of proceeds will be donated to Gar Relief Fund for Tibetan children and their school in Tibet.
