While Nita grieves over her mother's death, Kit tackles a challenge as dangerous as it is strange: Rescue a young wizard who has vanished on his first assignment. This new wizard is unlike any other--he's autistic and he's a magical prodigy. His power is enormous. Now Kit and his dog, Ponch, must track down the missing boy before the Lone Power finds him.

Very tedious! Spoiler alert!
Let me start this by saying that this was a book assigned for a class project for my son. We did not start with the first book, nor will we read any of the other books. Had I bought this book for my own personal use, I would not have made it past the first chapter. My son chose this book because he was told that it was about an Autistic wizard(my son has Aspergers). The take on Autism is kind of interesting. But that the character could kind of lock the autism away and become normal again, is every parents most heartfelt wish, that will never come true. This is a very hard book to get into or to care about any of the characters. I think it is kind of sad when one of the most interesting characters is the dog. I found the writing kind of choppy and there were numerous grammatical errors making a hard to read book, even harder. Being an avid reader, I would not recommend this book.
