A Passion For Adventure
Drawn to a life of excitement and risk, Lady Millie Aldon made a pact to forsake marriage. But her plans are thrown into chaos when Chase Wentworth returns to town. A Dangerous Seduction
As Millie makes a game of observing Chase's every move, she finds her attraction to him unsettling. When a stolen kiss threatens to turn their flirtation into something more powerful, she questions her vow of freedom. But Millie has no idea of the danger she's facing. Chase has a complicated past--and his clandestine efforts to expose a traitor will soon provide a more perilous--and passionate--adventure than Millie could ever have planned. . .
Praise for Michele Sinclair
"Sinclair entertains with noble self-sacrifice, double deceptions, sizzling attraction, and affectionate meddling." --Publishers Weekly on Tempting the Highlander
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Sinclair (Tempting the Highlander) sweeps three aristocratic maids from bucolic Dorset to the hectic London season in this inadvertently hilarious X-rated Regency romance. At age 12, petite, raven-haired Millie Aldon made her friends, dainty blonde Aimee and red-haired bluestocking Jennelle, swear off marriage. At 20, things look a little different. Aimee's hunky older brother, Chase, a future marquess and a "self-controlled, serious man," awakens Millie's protective instincts and raging hormones when he's pursued by seductive Selena Hall. Chase and Millie's on-again, off-again mating dance is counterpoint to a facile fictional political intrigue, while Millie's diaphanous wardrobe and anachronistic sexual hunger periodically turn Chase into a "whimpering mess." With infelicitously overheated language and unconvincing plot twists, this rambling tale never achieves the elegance of the gowns it so lovingly describes.
Customer Reviews
Love this! A new series from Michele Sinclair
While I love Michele Sinclair's Highlander books - The Christmas Knight being my fave book of hers - I'm a Regency Period kind of girl. Ms. Sinclair has seamlessly moved over to that time period and brought out a trio of really interesting women that I can relate to. Women who are willing to take a chance and think about things outside of ribbons and rules. I truly enjoyed this series and can't wait for the next book!
