The Abandoned Pittsburgh series is a photographic project seeking to document the forgotten places where a strange, haunting beauty still exists — from derelict steel mills and empty warehouses to rusted bridges and decayed churches.

Haunting Reminders of Another Age
There are stories behind each stark image, and the reader longs to know what happened to those who once worked in the abandoned factories or worshipped in the derelict church. The forgotten office chair seemingly waiting to be used again; the rusted fan stilled; a bridge standing sentry; vines encroaching upon once-traveled steps. I can almost hear the machinery running at full bore, almost see dedicated hands operating the now rusted mechanisms. The writer draws in the reader with finely tuned descriptions, allowing the richness of the images to speak for themselves in vivid colors and stark backgrounds blended with contemporary life, as other new inhabitants have sought shelter.
Beautifully handled
He lets each location speak in its own ghostly voice.
