Taut suspense and intrigue
Book two in this series picks up with Hunter dealing with the after effects of his reaction to discovering Kylie's secret. A series of crisis events brings the two back together and they join forces in an attempt to find missing shifters and defeat the lions' awful testing program.
The writing is crisp, the suspense is constantly humming and there is a roller coaster of emotions. A few story elements are thrown out and then not dealt with which is frustrating. Perhaps they will be addressed in subsequent books though some don't seem like they should wait. That always frustrates me.
Unlike many other romances I've read lately, this one has some drama & action. I speak literal, not referring to sex. :p Tho yes, the book has its steamy moments too. What I fancied the most was the creative idea of the bracelet & how that works. To me it's an original idea for how a shifter gets to change, which I think is pretty cool. :D There are a couple more books for this series which I may read someday. For now though I intend to give some of my other series a try! But yes, I enjoyed the story. :D
