OMG
Nana does it again. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
Chaos will reign
Well Acquisition lived up to the pace and drama set in Takeover. It is rare that I can say that about a book 2.
Takeover left off with Atticus breaking Gwen's heart and telling her he can't marry her. So Acquisition picks up with Gwen now in London staying with Lance and working out of the London office of Pendragon. She has had feelings of seeing Atticus in London, but she ignores the feeling. Until she comes face to face with him. Why is he here? How long has he been here? When is he leaving? All questions going through Gwen's mind.
When Gwen runs from Atticus, even though it is just to her office, he makes a point of letting her know she can run, but he will always find her.
As things get dangerous for Gwen, will Atticus be able to protect her? Who is trying to scare and possibly kill Gwen? Is this the work of Atticus's father? Is his threat that if Atticus marries Gwen, his mother will pay becoming a reality?
When the board meeting commences, Atticus's father strolls in like he doesn't have a care in the world. Little does he know what Team New York have been up to. This is one of the most eye opening, and some would say explosive, board meetings in the history of Pendragon.
After the meeting, Atticus and Gwen head home and chaos reigns.
This is a cliffhanger. If you are not a fan of them, I suggest you wait until Merger, book 3, releases before reading either Takeover or Acquisition.
Great sequel
The author wrote a fantastic sequel to the previous book. The emotional drama continued to engage me as I connected with her situation. I found myself rooting for them as everything became clear. I loved how the author kept the same intensity. Great story.
