In this book a detailed biography of Major General of Aviation Maxim Nikolaevich Chibisov (1906-1989) – a distinguished soviet aviator is presented. He was a brave soldier and a commander during the Great Patriotic War (World War II). He was the head of a special group that ferried hydroplanes “Catalina” from the United States to the Soviet Union as part of the Lend-Lease Program. In 1947-1951 he was chief of Polar aviation and organizer of high-latitude aerial expeditions in Arctic. His professional activity has been never described before due to the state security concerns.
