Act of Submission (PSI Ops)

Book Three in the PSI Ops Series

Haven Carey has given up everything to seek out the man responsible for her brother's death, but she gets a lot more than she bargained for when she comes face-to-face with the tall, dark, and delicious alpha. When her world is turned on its head, she soon discovers that nothing is as it appears to be.

Cat-shifting PSI-Operative Miles "Boomer" Walsh is the team loner for a reason—nothing and no one touches him. Not anymore. Except when a beautiful vixen shows up, claiming he murdered her brother, and tries to kill him. It's not the first time a female's tried to end him. But this time is different. Primal instinct demands his total surrender to whatever the woman has in mind… especially if that something includes a little pain mixed with pleasure.

As Good As I Hoped

I knew Boomer’s story was going to be my favorite! This is the 3rd PSI story after Duke and James and it’s the one with the most depth. Unlike the other PSI books, the author touched on deep issues like mental health, child abuse, sex trafficking, and animal cruelty as well as others. Also, unlike all the other Shifters, Boomer was the only one who actually was resistant to “mating” for very real reasons, the lack of awareness to love which I think is a very present and current problem. But he showed growth and development.

Issues - The book isn’t the best written story. Dialogue, although humorous, can be unnecessary and lengthy at times. I wished the author focused more on the description of the action scenes and added intensity through words. All the topics I mentioned above were never talked about more than on a surface level but I can appreciate the mention. Lastly, there were references to the “Immortal Ops” books which I didn’t read (because it’s not in the series!) So jumping from Book #2 to #3 was very confusing.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book after reading about Duke and James. Boomer’s story was the best, but Duke is still my favorite PSI! ☺️
