Adventures in Endocrinology

This book is a compilation of my Harvard University research in human endocrinology. I wanted to write a book that was accessible to individuals interested in science, but might not have a Ph.D. background.  The concepts presented in this book are the endocrine system basics, weight management and endocrine effects during severe infection.


Chapter 1 - Endocrine System

In this chapter insulin, adipose tissue, gastrointestinal and neuropeptide hormones, and exercise are discussed.  Contributing authors were Vivien Cheng, Dr. Paul Cottrell, John Mark Johnson and Amrit Sanal,


Chapter 2 - The Act of Balance: Weight Management

This chapter we go into weight management from the perspective of insulin, leptin and adiponectin, neuropeptides and exercise.  Contributing authors were Fatimat Adigun-Bello, Dr. Paul Cottrell, Victoria Virgulak and Vivian Okonta.
