Adventures of a Londoner who now calls Australia home

Mary's adventures begin in England, with unexpected results, including meeting and marrying an Indian from Tanzania. Brought up in London, but well-travelled from an early age, she always wanted to live by the sea in a sunny country. So the story becomes an Australian story.

This is a story of possums and pussy cats; being stuck on the beach in wet bathers on a cold winter morning (because the dog has buried the car keys somewhere in the sand and forgotten about it); a pine tree falling through the roof; a strange encounter with a sea eagle; a burning bird's nest; an explosion in the pantry; struggling desperately with twenty-first century technology and lots more.

The scene is set and the story told. Whether it is about living in a boat on the river Thames, or swimming unwisely in a water-hole in Tropical North Queensland, you are in for some for some surprises.

And we take a look into Australia’s history and how it became what it is today, including the latest views on colonisation and the situation of the indigenous people (now known as Australia's First Nation).
