European plane maker EADS submitted its bid for a $35 billion contract with the Air Force to build aerial refueling tankers on Thursday, and Boeing planned to follow with a bid on Friday, launching a new chapter in the heated, years-long contest for the contract. EADS, along with Northrop Grumman, won an earlier bid for the contract, but government auditors overturned that award due to problems in the bidding.
