Sequel.
A sequel to the 2006 bestseller, Me Before You, Jojo Moyes’ After You is the story of how Louisa Clark handles the death of Will Traynor, a 35-year-old quadriplegic who chose suicide as a way out of his suffering. Devastated by Will’s death, Louisa is adrift until she finds someone else who depends on her, giving her the will to continue living. An essential character in the first book of the series, Will is relegated to a tangential role in this sequel, which detracts somewhat from the story because of the dramatic impact he had on everyone he came into contact with.
Summary & Analysis of Jojo Moyes’ After You by Instaread is an excellent 15-minute read that gives readers a full explanation of the novel, including the main characters, their relationships, and the key recurring themes of Moyes’ book.
Great book
This Moyes novel takes off from where Me Before You left off. As a reader, it is nice to “come home again” to characters you’ve known. Louisa is trying to make a new life for herself once again and is having a miserable time of it. Still miserable from Will’s death, she suffers terribly from a fall some think is attempted suicide. Her recovery allows her to reconnect with her family, and begin grief recovery meetings. A young mystery girl enters her life, as does a medic who cared for her in the ambulance after her fall. Opportunities appear but the past and current, cloud the future. Great read
Love this book!
This book first gives an overview on what the book is about, lists and describes the main characters, analyzes the characters' relationships, and discusses the book's themes. I would recommend reading the descriptions of the main characters first. When I first started reading, it was hard for me to keep track of the characters. The character analysis did a great job of helping me keep things straight. This book is about relationships, grief, and how to get through hard times.
