Descripción editorial
The epic battle between humankind and their godlike rulers finally ignites in the masterful follow-up to Age of Myth and Age of Swords.
The alliance of humans and renegade Fhrey is fragile—and about to be tested as never before. Persephone keeps the human clans from turning on one another through her iron will and a compassionate heart. The arrogant Fhrey are barely held in check by their leader, Nyphron, who seeks to advance his own nefarious agenda through a loveless marriage that will result in the betrayal of the person Persephone loves most: Raithe, the God Killer.
As the Fhrey overlords marshal their army and sorcerers to crush the rebellion, old loyalties will be challenged while fresh conspiracies will threaten to undo all that Persephone has accomplished. In the darkest hour, when hope is all but lost, new heroes will rise . . . but at what terrible cost?
Magic, fantasy, and mythology collide in Michael J. Sullivan’s Legends of the First Empire series:
AGE OF MYTH • AGE OF SWORDS • AGE OF WAR
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
In this powerful third book (after Age of Swords) of a projected six-book series, Sullivan continues providing excellent worldbuilding and character development while introducing the first true battle in the war between the human Rhune and the elven Fhrey. After Nyphron, a Fhrey allied with humans, secures the surrender of the great fortress of his people, Rhune ruler Persephone must lead her people in their preparations for the inevitable assault from Fhrey leader Fane Lothian. Meanwhile, a young historian and a warrior in training discover evidence that one of the ghoulish raow is hiding in the city and harboring some evil purpose. The world is technologically equivalent to our early Middle Ages: during the course of this tale, steel is invented, the initial use of archers in combat occurs, and a human first rides a horse. Sullivan also gifts readers with complex lives for his characters, filled with tests, triumphs, and tragedies. This isn't an entry point for the series, but Sullivan's fans will be delighted.

Age of War
What can I say other than this ran the full gamut of emotions. Was tough to set down at night as a result many difficulties getting up the next morning. Enjoy!
A remarkable book.
Excellent read, a real page turner!
Couldn’t put down!
I have really enjoyed watching the character development through this series, and none more so than in this latest installment of the series (book 4 is due out soon as of the time of this review). The action really picks up in this book as well, along with several instances where you can really feel the pain of some of the characters (beware of teary eyes!). Totally recommend this book and the series!
