Air to Dream (Elemental Series Book 1‪)‬

Carolina Tatakai has an interesting job, "escorting" affluent and influential clients to a range of activities and events. Cara and her associates, Patrick and Shannon, are founding members and co-owners of the highly successful business, KISSES, Inc. Patrick, her longtime sparring partner, manages technology requirements (for legal reasons his title cannot be hacker); while Shannon, her best friend from college, is responsible for make-up, costuming, and any business-related theatrics or pageantry (read Subterfuge Expert); and Cara, when not escorting her crazy, um, wealthy patrons, handles the company legal responsibilities. Cara has escorted a number of difficult clients over the years, but recently a series of extremely challenging customers have appeared (surgically altered pointy teeth, really?!?) and, at the same time, job hazards have increased, causing her to question her choice of careers.

Additionally, Cara is concerned that the increased tension in her new assignment is affecting her dream world, where danger now lurks in every shadow. She never dreams of fluffy bunnies, everyday activities, or her current music idol; instead, each night when Cara closes her eyes she dreams of Otherworld. She has filled countless notebook pages with vague recollections and fanciful descriptions of the strange but beautiful world where Magick is real, the inhabitants are mythical creatures, and she watches everything as a visitor through the eyes of another. Lately, she wakes remembering enticing glimpses of the warrior who owns those eyes - the strangely sexy pointed ears, lean and muscular body, beautiful reflective silver skin, amazing white hair reminiscent of clouds in the sky – distracting, really.

Danger, yes – yes, that's the point…

Otherworld is divided between Light Sidhe and Dark Sidhe with an uneasy truce in place. Recent disturbances are keeping “her” warrior in constant danger and she fears for him in his position as the Right Hand Warrior and protector of the Light Sidhe King. She has finally discovered his name is Warhendryte and he seems too real – so real in fact, she is falling in love and questioning her sanity, as no human man can stir up her passions like this dream warrior.

His latest assignments for the king portend trouble with the Dark Sidhe, who are creeping back into the light kingdom after being banished to the underground as a result of the 1,000 Year War. In a recently dreamt battle involving Warhendryte, the Light King and his guards in the Dark Sidhe’s underground world, Cara watched a Light Sidhe guard fall by the sword of a Dark Sidhe. It was then it dawned on her that mythical creatures - namely her mythical warrior, can die.

Today, with Cara executing the largest and most profitable contract KISSES, Inc. has ever had, she is concerned about her physical health, her dream warrior’s wellbeing, and the fact that she now actually believes her warrior is real, and that Otherworld truly exists.
