Based on primary documents--letters and interviews--and stitched together with memories and photographs, Airmail: A Story of War in Poems is genre-bending story of one family’s relationship to war. It is a book about going off to war, a book about coming back home, and a book about those who are left behind. Written to honor the author’s seven uncles who all served in the military, five of them in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War, it is dedicated it to them, and to all voices calling out in times of war: "I miss you. I love you. I wish I was home."
