In 1917 Nottingham Air Ace Albert Ball met Flora Kavanagh Young and the two of them were engaged to be married; a wedding that never took place due to Albert's death at the front. This is the story of their love. Their stories become the catalyst for a whole series of pictures of life during that bitter conflict and the people that lived through it.
