Publisher Description

A house divided cannot stand…

Erik Larsson's world changes forever the day the lights go out. As hours turn into days and word spreads that terrorist attacks have thrown the whole nation in the dark, Erik and his neighbors soon discover just how quickly the thin veneer of civilization can crumble: the crisis has given birth to open rebellion.

To survive, Erik must rally his community in the face of growing lawlessness. But when invasion is thrown into the mix, even the bravest of them will ask, is this the end of the United States?

Alea Jacta Est is over 650 pages of gritty, post-apocalyptic action set in America's near future.

Superb

One of the best books written about this topic and probably a lot more realistic as to the crumbling of our “society “.

Paranoia reigns!

If you enjoy paranoia, you may like this book. I don’t, and I didn’t. Let’s see … who is “out to get us”? Blacks, Muslims, Mexicans, Russia, China, US government officials, the UN and ALL our NATO allies (except possibly the UK). And who will “save us”? The US military and right-thinking, well-armed civilians. Well, after the US Constitution has been suspended. The page-by-page writing is not too bad, but this “Fortress America” world needs either more justification and backstory and to be set further in the future (to be more convincing that EVERYONE has aligned against America), or to clearly establish this alternate world is NOT the one we live in. Is that too much to ask?
