Poetry speaks to each of us at another level, below our consciousness. Like music, it reaches inside to touch us. While most of us first experience poetry read aloud as children, we almost never hear a poem once we’ve grown up. Yet spoken poetry can be a visceral, exhilarating experience. Poetry Speaks 2Go attempts to create (or perhaps recreate) that experience. It is our hope that this introduction to Alfred, Lord Tennyson will be the beginning of a journey for you.

Perhaps most importantly, we also include audio of this historic poet reading his own work, with a brief introduction by Peabody Award winner Charles Osgood. Hearing Tennyson read his own work is a singular experience, one that can’t be replicated by any other actor or orator.
