Publisher Description
One of the best-loved books of all time, and later known as Alice in Wonderland, this is the original handwritten manuscript given by Lewis Carroll to Alice Liddell for Christmas 1864. It tells the surreal story of the adventures of a little girl in a fantasy world populated by talking white rabbits, card soldiers and dancing turtles.
Lewis Carroll (the pen name for Charles Dodgson) was only later encouraged to rewrite the story and seek publication.
The manuscript is illustrated throughout by Dodgson, who later commissioned John Tenniel to come up with the drawings we are more familiar with.
This eBookTreasures facsimile edition has a transcription of the text throughout as well as superb narration by Miriam Margoyles.

THIS IS AWESOME BUT FIX THE READING
Thank you but I'd much prefer the audio matched exactly what was seen on the page. And that I didn't have to hit play for each page. And that the pages turned on their own. UPDATE THIS PLEASE
Excellent Piece of History
This is Carroll's original hand-written book, and it is fascinating to see his own pictures, and to analyze the differences between this "Underground" draft and the published "Wonderland" version. The narration is a nice addition to this eBook.
Essential for Carroll enthusiasts.

The inner beauty of this book doesn't match the ugliness of it's cover.
