Publisher Description
Now an original series on Syfy, from executive producers Gale Anne Hurd (The Walking Dead) and Natalie Chaidez (12 Monkeys) and Universal Cable Productions.
Alien Hunter is a searing novel from New York Times bestselling author Whitley Strieber.
A young wife disappears in the night, never to be seen again. There is no evidence of kidnapping—in fact, everything indicates that she left on purpose. Her husband, a brilliant police detective, cannot believe this—but he also can't find her.
Flynn Carroll's lost love becomes his obsession. He begins amassing a file of similar cases nationwide. His conclusion is unavoidable: somebody is taking people and making it look like they walked out on their own. As Flynn's case files grow, his work comes to the attention of Special Agent Diana Glass, a member of the most secret police unit on the planet. This police force seeks the most brilliant and lethal criminals who have ever walked free—thieves and murderers from another world.
Without fully understanding what Glass and her team are doing, Flynn steps into a hidden world of extraordinary challenge and lethal danger. The job is the most difficult police assignment ever known to man, but the idea is the same—find the bad guys. Stop them.
At the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Bestseller Strieber (Hybrids) uneasily mixes extraterrestrials and crime in this first in a new thriller series, which opens on a strong note with a terrifying and moving scene. Soon after midnight on November 16, 2002, police detective Errol "Flynn" Carroll discovers that his 22-year-old wife, Abby, is missing from their smalltown Texas home. It looks as if she put three changes of clothes into her backpack before leaving voluntarily. The marriage was happy and she hadn't mentioned any travel plans, and Flynn spends the next decade trying to discover who or what has taken Abby. When the answer arrives, it's a doozy: an alien killer has been snatching bodies for nefarious purposes. The cat-and-mouse game that follows, which includes the appearance of a mutant Siberian tiger, descends into incoherence as Flynn aimlessly bounces around the country. Many readers will struggle to suspend their disbelief, though fans of Strieber's Communion and other UFO-themed titles may not.

Confused plot
First problem, no list of chapters in front of book. Second problem main character is Stupid!. For a cop that can fly planes, helicopters, knows astronomy, geography, and all about guns, he doesn't kill anything human or alien until the last few pages of the book. The Syfy show must have used a different book for their new series, because it's nothing like this book!.
